Time: Conference starts at 1PM. SONG SEARCH starts at 11AM for artists entering the competition.

What: The 20-year old NMW Conference comes to Edmonton for the first time, alongside a major festival of the top emerging artists from Western Canada. The NMW Conference features a Music & Technology Keynote from Milun Tesovic, who founded Metrolyrics, the 3rd most popular music website in the world with 45 million hits per month, at the age of 15! Panels of Experts from Record Labels, Management, Film & TV, Radio, Live Concerts, Digital Marketing, and the NMW 2011 Song Search where the winning band will be handed a cheque for $20,000!!!

Why: For anyone interested in networking with music people, learning about today's industry, finding out about job options, or furthering their career in the music business. NMW Song Search and $20,000 Prize: A panel of experienced industry experts from Radio, Management, Live Concerts and Studio Recording will listen to the recorded demos and tracks from ANY artists who wish to register for the conference. The best recording will be determined by the judges and the winning artist will receive the Harvard Broadcasting Exposure Award and a cheque for $20,000, presented by Lite 95.7FM!

To be eligible for the NMW Song Search 2011: You must be registered for the Conference by July 23rd at 10AM. Bring a song on a CD, iPOD, or USB drive, to the Conference venue at 11am on July 23rd, to secure a spot. At least one of the performers of the song must attend the Conference, and be prepared to discuss the song with the judges. The song must be completely original. No cover songs permitted.
